Hello! My name is Veronica Maclean --many know me as Roni :) I am an early childhood educator, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother and I surround myself in these loving relationships.   I began my formal educational journey at 18 at Selkirk College in 1988, and have continued this trajectory, on and off throughout my life to date. I am currently my final year of a Masters of Early Childhood Education at UBC, with my sights sets on a doctorate in languages and literacies or leadership?? I am especially interested in how the arts might contribute to pedagogy, practice, and research in the early years. To ask, how might the incorporation of  creativity, innovation and experiementation into our educational spaces afford an  alternate spaces for imagining 'otherwise';  and towards more just and inclusive worlds for all beings.
As an univited guest, it is important for me to acknowledge my settler colonizer legacy and to grapple with my relationship to this land.   I am exceedingly grateful to call this place home; and I am commited to reimaigning and forging new relationsips and constructing new narratives of our shared histories, knowledged and ways of being with each other.
