Belén Martin - Lynx Program Associate Educator - Beavers Room, ECE & Infant Toddler Diploma
Hola everyone! My name is Belén, but most of you know me as Bee. I started my practicum at the School House last year, but since this summer I’m officially part of the staff! A little bit about myself: I was born and raised in the beautiful town of Linares, Southern Spain. My passion for children has always been present, since I come from a family with many cousins (more than 20!) and I was able to spend my childhood with them. Due to the economic crisis that we are suffering, me and me partner decided to move to Canada 3 years ago. In Spain I studied graphic design, but after doing my practicum I realized that it was not my thing. I was also part of a ballet school, but after so many years dancing my body asked me for a break. Since I came to Canada, I’ve done so many things! I was a cherry and apple picker during 5 months, I lived in my van and I could travel a little bit through Canada. I met so many people from different countries and I was able to learn and appreciate cultural diversity. Later, I settled in Nelson where I worked as a cleaner, nanny and waitress until my partner and I decided to stay longer and I started my studies in ECCE/IT. I love spending time outdoors, snowboarding in the winter and enjoying the lake in the summer. I also love to share my culture and my language with the little ones, so be ready for your children to learn some Spanish! Hope to meet you all!
