Karen Thomas - Bobcat Program Associate Educator - Eagles Room, Bachelor of Education with a minor in Special Education, ECE
I earned my education degree in Edmonton at the University of Alberta. I chose to go to Edmonton because there would be more snow and more opportunities to cross country ski. I was an avid cross-country skier at that time. I enjoyed my time in Edmonton and managed the cold quite well with very long warm coats. I lived and worked in Edmonton for many years. I worked as a teacher on call, a preschool teacher and a special education assistant at an aboriginal head start. As I already indicated I like the outdoors, especially in the winter. I still enjoy cross-country skiing and also snow-shoe with my husband. Other activities that I enjoy include knitting, spinning, weaving and gardening. In 2013 I began a journey of learning the art of clowning. I hope to continue that learning as it is a valuable and interesting way to look at life.
