Update March 26, 2022: We are pleased to announce that our contract as a $10 a Day ChildCareBC Centre has been renewed until March 31, 2022. Update March 8, 2022: All of our programs waitlists are full. We will notify you here when they reopen. Thank you. Update August 23, 2021: We are happy to announce that as of August 30, 2021 we will be reinstating pre-pandemic hours of operation at our center. Hours of care will be 7:30 am- 5:15 pm (with first drop off at 7:45 am and last pick up at 5:00 pm) in all program areas. As well, our Before & After School Program (Wildcats) will be reopening in September! ![]() COVID-19 UPDATE, August 23/21: In accordance with recent announcements from Dr. Bonnie Henry the School House will once again be requiring face masks while inside the Centre for all parents and visitors. Educators will be wearing their masks at pick up and drop offs as well as in common areas. This mask update is regardless of vaccination status. ![]() The Schoolhouse stands and grieves with the Tk’emlups te Secwépemc First Nation, the families of the children who attended the Kamloops Indian Residential school and the families of all children who attended any residential Schools in Canada. We open our hearts and hold space for the unimaginable pain that this recent finding of this mass burial site has inflicted on all Indigenous people. We join you all in great sorrow and knowing that this is just the beginning, of the pain, the grief and the healing. We stand beside you in the knowing of how wronged the people of this land have been. We stand beside you in moving forward in a good way, honoring the Indigenous people of this land and ensuring all of the Truth and Reconciliation’s 94 calls to Action are fully recognized and honored by all of the peoples of Canada. We share this beautiful offering by Abigail Echo-hawk in honor of the 215 children that lost their lives at the Kamloops Indian Residential School. When they buried the children What they didn’t know They were lovingly embraced By the land Held and cradled in a Mothers heart The trees wept for them, with the wind they sang mourning songs their mothers didn’t know to sing Bending branches to touch the earth around them. The Creator cried for them the tears falling like rain. Mother Earth held the Until they could be found. Now our voices sing the mourning songs. We honour their connection to and the stewardship of the land. We respect the importance of the environment and these connections to place and their impact on the strength of community. We humbly acknowledge that there is much work and learning to do and stand with the Sinixt ready and willing to listen and learn.
