Scottie Miller
Bobcat Program Lead Educator - Otters Room, ECE
Hi, I’m Scottie.
I live in 6mi. and have worked as an ECE since 2005. I moved to Nelson, with my son, from Rossland in 2013. I am really excited to be a part of the School House staff. I’m warm, nurturing, very patient and very approachable. Every child is gifted and my honest respect helps me connect with your individual child. Share your thoughts and questions anytime! As well as my ECE from Selkirk, I have a bachelor’s degree in Botany and Anthropology. I was a Scout Leader in Rossland. Kids, plants, cultures and music are my thing. I’ve lived off grid very comfortably for 5 yrs. In my cabin and 1 yr. in a 22ft. teepee with my family of 5 while building a larger cabin. I have 2 children, both born on the farm, who have survived quite well into their 20’s. I’ve farmed 120 acres outside Rossland, growing garlic and 70 varieties of apples along with Scottish highland cattle, milk goats, chickens, ponies, horses and old rabbits. I own my own small business, Kokotelli Garden, producing Kokotelli garlic syrup since 1982. At home I love gardening, hiking, skiing and can be found most weekends camping and jeeping around old roads and mine sites. I’ve volunteered growing flower beds for Shambhala for 6 years. I love sharing the natural world with children and music from around the world, hoping to foster an appreciation for the variety in life. I am truly honored the staff has welcomed me in! “Strangers are just friends I haven’t met yet” (Will Rodgers). |
